Wisdom has built herself a house,   she has erected her seven pillars,

she has slaughtered her beasts, prepared her wine,   she has laid her table.

She has despatched her maidservants and proclaimed from the city’s heights:

‘Who is ignorant? Let him step this way.’

 To the fool she says,

‘Come and eat my bread, drink the wine I have prepared!

Leave your folly and you will live, walk in the ways of perception.’

You asked, ‘How am I to obtain Wisdom?’

Here’s the answer:    See Encouragements-69 , also attend Holy Mass & receive the Body of Christ regularly.  Don’t you know that Jesus Christ is our Wisdom?  8-)

Extracted from the letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians, Chapter 5:15-20

Be very careful about the sort of lives you lead, like intelligent and not like senseless people.

This may be a wicked age, but your lives should redeem it.

And do not be thoughtless but recognise what is the will of the Lord.

Do not drug yourselves with wine, this is simply dissipation; be filled with the Spirit.

Sing the words and tunes of the psalms and hymns when you are together, and go on singing and chanting to the Lord in your hearts,

so that always and everywhere you are giving thanks to God who is our Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Extracted from the holy Gospel according to John 6:51-58

Jesus said to the Jews:

I am the living bread which has come down from heaven.

Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever;

and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world.’

Then the Jews started arguing with one another: ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’ they said. Jesus replied:

I tell you most solemnly,

if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in you.

Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life,

and I shall raise him up on the last day.

For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in him.

As I, who am sent by the living Father, myself draw life from the Father,

so whoever eats me will draw life from me.

This is the bread come down from heaven; not like the bread our ancestors ate:

they are dead,

but anyone who eats this bread will live for ever.’

Interpretation from the Church:

The aforesaid were read in Holy Mass yesterday, Sunday 19 August 2012 and a wise and elderly Priest gave the Homily. We have summarized to share with you:

The aforesaid Gospel according to John is a continuation of what was being read in Mass on the previous Sunday 12 August 2012. See Encouragements-132.

This Priest advised us to read the entire John Chapter 6 and he told us that: Jesus had specifically emphasized the following many times, and He wants us to know that they are the eternal truths and He would keep His promises with us:

I am the bread of life” – verses 32, 35, 48, 51 & 58 – total of 5 times;

I shall raise him up on the last day” – verses 39, 40, 44 & 54 – total of 4 times;

Anyone who eats this bread will live forever / will not die/has eternal life” – verses 40, 47, 50, 51, 54 & 58 – total of 6 times.

The Priest told us that the aforesaid beautiful promises from our Lord Jesus Christ are given to all who believe in Him, as He had said:

Yes, it is my Father’s will that who ever sees the Son and believes in Him, shall have eternal life, and that I shall raise him up on the last day.” – Verse 40 &

I tell you most solemnly, everyone who believes has eternal life.” – Verse 47.

The Priest explained to believe in Jesus is to live a “worthy” life according to what Saint Paul said:

Be very careful about the sort of lives you lead, like intelligent and not like senseless people. This may be a wicked age, but your lives should redeem it.” (Ephesians 5:15)

This Priest highlighted the 1st Eucharistic Miracle of the Universal Church, happened in the 8th Century in the little Church of St. Legontian, Lanciano of Italy, where Jesus was then identified with having the “AB” Blood Group (See Encourgements-10). Do you belong to the same blood group as Jesus Christ?            8-)

The Priest also told us about the Eucharistic Miracle happened in Bolsena-Orvieto, Italy, where he visited the Church where the Eucharistic Miracle took place. Here’s the related Church record.

Finally, this wise Priest concluded his homily in highlighting Jesus’ words in John 6:56:

He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in him.

He further explained that this is a personal union, you in Jesus and Jesus in you. However because Jesus is the same and common in all of us who consume His Body in Holy Mass, we are united to one another in the Church as brothers and sisters. As so many grains have made up a loaf of Bread, all of us who live in Jesus have made up the whole Universal Church as the Body of Christ. Thus we need to love the others as brothers and sisters within the Universal Church if we love Christ.

Important Note: Only baptized Catholics (all over the world) could receive the Body of Christ (Holy Communion) in Holy Mass. If you are not, you are also most welcome to attend Holy Mass with us.
