Jesus is the Vine; we are the branches -Extracted from John, Chapter 15:
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.
2 Every branch in me that bears no fruit he cuts away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes to make it bear even more.
3 You are clean already, by means of the word that I have spoken to you.
4 Remain in me, as I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit all by itself, unless it remains part of the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me in him, bears fruit in plenty; for cut off from me you can do nothing.
6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a branch - and withers; these branches are collected and thrown on the fire and are burnt.
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for whatever you please and you will get it.
8 It is to the glory of my Father that you should bear much fruit and be my disciples.
You asked, ‘How to remain in Him?’
Here’s the answer based on accredited Church Teaching:
Attend Holy Mass regularly as He lets us consume His Body (/and Blood).
Jesus said, ‘ ... 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in that person. 57 As the living Father sent me and I draw life from the Father, so whoever eats me will also draw life from me. ..’ (extracted from John, Chapter 6 )
Well, you can only consume His Body (/and Blood) in Holy Mass if you are a baptised Catholic. If you are not a Catholic, you can still invite Him to come into your heart and He who is faithful will do so.
Don’t you know that Jesus Christ who has started His healing ministry more than 2000 years ago still continues to do so? Obviously, when we consume Him, he would heal us not only physically, but also spiritually, taking away any sadness, worry or distress (caused by others?), gives us His peace and joy. 8-)
Don’t you know that He is also the source of Wisdom and the Greatest Teacher? Well, let everyone who wants to be wise come to Him and be taught, and be inspired... 8-) |
My own peace I give you -Extracted from the holy Gospel according to John, Chapter 14: 27-31
Jesus said to his disciples:
‘Peace I bequeath to you, my own peace I give you,
a peace the world cannot give,
this is my gift to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
You heard me say: I am going away, and shall return.
If you loved me you would have been glad to know that I am going to the Father,
for the Father is greater than I.
I have told you this now before it happens,
so that when it does happen you may believe.
I shall not talk with you any longer,
because the prince of this world is on his way.
He has no power over me,
but the world must be brought to know
that I love the Father
and that I am doing exactly what the Father told me.’

The Advocate, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything - Extracted from the holy Gospel according to John, Chapter 14: 21-26
Jesus said to his disciples:
‘Anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them will be one who loves me;
and anybody who loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I shall love him and show myself to him.’
Judas – this was not Judas Iscariot – said to him, ‘Lord, what is all this about? Do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?’
Jesus replied:
‘If anyone loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him,
and we shall come to him and make our home with him.
Those who do not love me do not keep my words.
And my word is not my own: it is the word of the one who sent me.
I have said these things to you while still with you; but the Advocate, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything
and remind you of all I have said to you.’ |
